Trivia
I noticed that Gear/Giaru is the the only Pokemon consisting of two seperate entities. A couple of other Pokemon have had two heads/minds before, but were always connected by some physical bond. Can we add this fact in, or do we have to see the rest of Gen. 5? - unsigned comment from Element03 (talk • contribs)
- What about Exeggcute? They aren't connecting in a physical bond. --ケンジのガール 00:27, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- And Magneton. And possibly Dugtrio (we don't know what's under there). And even Porygon-Z to an extent. --SnorlaxMonster 10:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Physiology
Can a mod add this:
Giaru resembles two gears, with six cogs each, interlocking. The cogs of the gears are a light grey, while the central regions are much darker. Their left eyes are a simple "X", while their right eyes are very wide with a black pupil and a white cornea. They have round green noses and small mouths that are held wide open. - unsigned comment from Constantine (talk • contribs)
- Sure thing. —♥ Jello 17:24, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Umm, by the look of the art and sprites, their noses are blue...Megadog 00:51, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Trivia2
I'd like to add this to the trivia:
Giaru's ability either being Plus or Minus could suggest that it exerts a sort of magnetism, or that sending out two(or possibly three Giaru) is an advantage considering the fact that gears turning in oppposite directions combine.Pelipper 23:37, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think it would be best to wait until more information is known about this Pokémon. —darklordtrom 23:43, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Name Origin
I was thinking what could possibly be its name origin. If it was just a corrupted ギア gia, gear, or if it had something else behind it. Maybe, it could be something like a portmanteau of 誼 yoshimi or gi, friendly relations, and ある aru, to be with ギア gia, gear.KurowaSan 06:21, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- When it is two gears, and its name is a direct transliteration of gear, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the only origin is the word gear. Also, it makes me wonder why this page isn't at Gear (Pokémon), like Wargle. --SnorlaxMonster 06:42, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- ウォーグル Uōguru is an obvious portmanteau of the english words (written in japanese) ウォー uō, war, and イーグル īguru, eagle, becoming Wargle.
Now, for ギアル Giaru, this doesn't really happen. It may be just a corruption of ギア Gia, gear, but "giaru" isn't "gear" in Japanese.KurowaSan 07:00, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- Form and forme (フォーム and フォルム) use slightly different ways of transliteration, to distinguish them. It's a very slight corruption, and I'm betting that the official romanisation is "Gear". It's not like this type of tiny corruption hasn't happened before. --SnorlaxMonster 07:19, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- Besides, the u is a silent u. It's there because that's how the Japanese write it. - unsigned comment from Mikkim (talk • contribs)
Disambiguation
Okay since we're apparently redirecting 'Gear (Pokémon)' to this article, should the same also be done for 'Gear' alone? Except typing in 'Gear' into the search bar brings up the Gear item in List of key items in Pokémon Colosseum. Meaning a disambiguation page may also have to be made... That is, if we are going along the lines that Giaru is supposed to be 'Gear'... Rai Marshall 07:35, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- Most people are calling it Gear, and since we have a redirect, we should probably do create the page. Although, since Bulbapedia's referring to it as Giaru, we could word the page as something like, "You may have looking for Giaru (Pokémon), which is also known as Gear." --Element03 00:40, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
No one else get reminded of Magnemite?
Just saying, they remind me of each other. They're both based off of machinery it seems. Anyone else agree? Miscs 18:23, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- That is an opinion, thus not going to be included in the article. --SnorlaxMonster 14:02, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Name
Should we add in trivia that Klink is the name of the main antoganist in the old TV show, Hogan's Heroes? ----Desukaan563's userpage has a Value Formula to measure Pokémon worth (talk) 03:53, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
