:"Pignite" was the fan name for Tepig, not Chaoboo. There is also no evidence that Nintendo took the name from the fans. It was an obvious name to begin with. But I do think it would be notable trivia once Pignite has been official announced. --<span style="color:#33CC66;">ケンジ</span><span style="color:#6600CC;">の</span><span style="color:#FF00CC;">ガール</span> 00:39, 1 March 2011 (UTC) |

Wrestler?
Based on its big strong appearence and it's Fighting secondary type, I'm wondering if it could be based off a Wrestler like how Futachimaru has been stated to resemble a Samurai in training. Also, while I'm at it, could Janoby and Tsutarja be based off of French royalty wiht its overall majestic appearence and attitude? --Landfish7 12:31, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's pretty much confirmed that Janoby is based off French royalty. n:Pokémon Pia information begins to surface. Due to your statement below, then it probably is. --SnorlaxMonster 13:12, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Name Origin
Could its name also be based of the Chinese word for wrestle, jiāo? --Landfish7 12:37, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it's meant to be Chinese, so it probably is based off a Chinese word. And it does look like a wrestler. So I'd say that it is. --SnorlaxMonster 13:12, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- So can I add it? I'm assuming so. --Landfish7 22:06, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Probably, but comparing with the sound of "chāo" or "qiāo", "jiāo" doesn't really sound close to chao. Also, the Chinese word for wrestling is actually 摔角 shuāijiǎo (also 摔跤 shuāijiāo). The word "跤" itself only means "to fall" or "to tumble". 神奇超龍 12:43, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Has anybody noted the similarities between Chaobu and Blaziken?
I was just wondering if anybody noticed the similarities between Chaobu and Blaziken. First, it is a dual Fire/Fighting type and it has rings on its wrists. Blaziken remake with a pig? Am I the only one who sees this? --Pokemon26 00:26, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- I see no resemblance whatsoever other than the typing Ataro 00:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

- I don't think pics like that are enough evidence. A proper scan or article that references the name is needed. --jda95 06:33, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
actually he claims he knows every name of every gym leader and cities cuz he got pokemon black early!Badwolf1234 07:05, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- How did he do that? --SnorlaxMonster 07:21, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Actually i don't know but he claims he got an early delivery of pokemon black and he proves it with a picture of his game and he answers question about pokemon black.Badwolf1234 07:29, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- It seems he is a reviewer for a fansite and got a pre-release review copy. We should still take this with a grain of salt, as it still isn't quite official enough.--jda95 08:01, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- What? "Pignite" is not only list-confirmed and Serebii-confirmed, but Tympole and Timburr were also moved because of Nintendo blogger. And why'd he make fake pictures?----無限の知性 ◎ DENNOU◆ZENSHI 08:49, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well, this isn't exactly as official as the official blog. FYI, he has a forum thread here where he's answered questions about the game, and he's revealed all of the town names as well as those of the Gym Leaders. --jda95 08:55, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Anyway, he wouldn't make fake pictures.----無限の知性 ◎ DENNOU◆ZENSHI 09:10, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

I also agree the name is Pignite, I saw someone use that name on ebay, if it's out to the public is must be correct. Zekromthunder 01:45, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- The wiki may not be proof, but those pics are. I say move page. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) 18:44, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
From unconfirmed sources because Pokémon.com or any nintendo sources say so. We only use confirmed sources so please stop fussing. --Pokemaster97 21:08, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Signature move
While it is implied in "The Tepig family are the only Generation V starter Pokémon to have a signature move, Heat Stamp.", is it worth mentioning that they are not the only starter family to ever have had one, as Grovyle/Sceptile's signature move in Gen III was Leaf Blade?? Oshawhat? 11:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think it's notable enough. It doesn't say it plainly but, like you said, it does imply it which I think is good enough. Besides, all three starter families from Generation III had one.
- Sceptile=Leaf Blade
- Blaziken=Blaze Kick
- Swampert=Muddy Water
- Maybe we could say something like "Generation V is the only generation besides Generation III to have a starter Pokémon with a signature move." We probably shouldn't say that on this page though.
- Maybe we could say that its the only genV starter with a signature move, and also the first starter since Gen III to have one? Oshawhat? 10:05, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- That's only skipping one generation. Just leave this page how it is, and that kind of trivia can go on the starter Pokémon page (or perhaps the signature move page). --SnorlaxMonster 06:33, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
