Team Snagem (Japanese スナッチ団 Snatch-dan, literally Snatch Gang) is a gang of theives and criminals operating in Orre. Their hideout is located in Eclo Canyon.

Before the events of Pokémon Colosseum, a criminal organization named Cipher allied themselves with Team Snagem as part of their plan to rule the world through Shadow Pokémon. To this end, Cipher supplied Team Snagem with Snag Machines, which allowed Snagem members to steal Pokémon from their trainers.

In the beginning of Pokémon Colosseum, a member of Team Snagem named Wes turns on his teammates, stealing an arm-mounted Snag Machine and destroying a larger model before blowing up the Snagem Hideout.

Shortly after meeting Rui and Mayor Es Cade in Phenac City, a trio of Snagems approach Wes and order him to give back the Snag Machine. One of them picks a fight with Wes only to lose. The leader of Team Snagem, Gonzap, later confronts Wes directly at Realgam Tower, and is soundly defeated. They later have a rematch in the remains of the Snagem Hideout, but Gonzap loses again.

In Pokémon XD, Team Snagem is busy trying to recruit new members into their ranks, but with limited success. Outside the S.S. Libra, three of Gonzap's men encounter Michael and attack him, then steal his Snag Machine and take it to Gonzap. Michael attacks the Snagem Hideout and defeats Gonzap to reclaim the Snag Machine. Impressed with Michael's strength, Gonzap allies with him to defeat Cipher, claiming that as long as Cipher is active in Orre, Team Snagem will never be the most powerful criminal group in the land. Gonzap and his trio of Snagems aid Michael in infiltrating the Cipher Key Lair by knocking out the guards with a Sleep Powder attack from Wakin's Gloom.

After defeating Greevil, Gonzap and Wakin are mentioned as having left the Hideout. Gonzap appears in Orre Colosseum as the final opponent of the fifth round. A Snagem member inside the Hideout also comments that Team Snagem has given up their recruitment drive in favor of training the existing members into a small group of elites.

Trivia

  • Team Snagem is a pun of snagging, or "Snag 'Em".
  • Despite their criminal ways, Gonzap and one of his lesser members are shown with the rest of the heroes in Pokémon XD's ending.
