(Japanese: マシュー Matthew) is the character of the day in BW038. He is voiced by 三宅健太 Kenta Miyake in Japanese.
Matthew was the owner of a movie theater and was Luke's mentor. At the end of the episode, he suggested that Luke compete in the Don Battle tournament being held in Raimon Town. From him, Ash and friends also learned of the tournament and decided to compete.
