In-battle effect items are held items that take effect during a battle.

Berserk Gene

• Effect: Confuses the user and raises Attack.
• Found:
  • Cerulean City, right near where the entrance of Cerulean Cave would have been (G/S/C)

• Effect: Boost the amount of HP restored through HP-stealing moves.
• Found:
  • Route 214 (D/P)

File:BlackSludge.png Black Sludge

• Effect: Restores HP of Poison-type Pokémon in battle; damages all other types.

• Effect: When held by a Pokémon currently in battle, it lowers the accuracy of the opponent.

• Effect: Increases the first move used by a factor of 1.5 when held. Can't use other moves while out.
• Found:

File:DampRock.png Damp Rock

• Effect: Makes the effect of the move Rain Dance last longer.
• Found:
  • Dig out in the Underground (D/P)

File:FocusBand.png Focus Band

• Effect: May allow a Pokémon to survive a fatal attack with 1 HP. Doesn't work if the Pokémon has 1 HP.
• Found:
  • Battle Tower (48BP) (D/P)
  • Battle Frontier (64BP) (E)

File:GripClawSprite.png Grip Claw

• Effect: A hold item that increases the duration of multiturn attacks (e.g.: Bind and Wrap).
• Found:
  • Some wild Sneasel (D/P)

File:HeatRock.png Heat Rock

• Effect: Makes the effect of the move Sunny Day last longer.
• Found:
  • Dig out in the Underground (D/P)

Iron Ball

• Effect: Cuts the holder's speed, makes Template:Type2 Pokémon and Pokémon with Levitate susceptible to Template:Type2 moves.
• Found:
  • Underground, Iron Island (D/P)

• Effect: Restores 1/16 of the Pokémon's maximum HP (rounded down) each round (in battle) when held.
• Found:
  • 100% chance of being held by wild Snorlax (R/S/E) and Generation II
  • Found under both sleeping Snorlax (use Itemfinder) (FR/LG)
  • Battle Frontier prize and inside SS. Tidal bin (Emerald)
  • Found on wild Munchlax, Victory Road (D/P)
