Does Jirachi learn this at 5 or at 30? And does it really learn it twice?

Sleeping in Generation III

I've noticed that the move in Emerald works in the following way:

Turn 0 (When used). The user regains health and falls asleep.
Turn 1. The user is asleep.
Turn 2. The user is asleep.
Turn 3.The user wakes up and performs an attack if ordered.

Does it work in Generation I games in the same way? If yes, the description should be corrected. If no, a description for Generation III ought to be added. --Pokeresp 13:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

In Generation I, you probably have to wait a turn before giving more orders, as that was how sleep worked at the time, but I think that change was made between I and II rather than II and III, I could be wrong, but I think that's when, but that was a change made with regards to sleep that effected Rest, rather than a direct change to Rest. That said, it probably should be mentioned. Gastlys mama 22:31, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

In Gen I it works as follows:

Turn 0 (When used). The user regains health and falls asleep.
Turn 1. The user is asleep.
Turn 2. The user wakes up.
Turn 3.The user can attack or perform any order. hfc2X 07:56, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

"Stacking" Status Problems

I think it should be noted that even if a Pokemon with Rest is already afflicted by a status condition (example, a wild Snorlax with Paralysis), Rest will nullify this condition in a strange case of being able to "stack" status ailments. I, uh, learned this the hard way. Recalcitrancy 22:17, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

It is already there.--RexRacer -talk 22:18, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
...durrr, I clearly can't read. Sorry. Recalcitrancy 20:18, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Safeguard

I was wondering... what happens if a Pokémon had used Safeguard and then uses rest? I think that the move fails, but I'm not sure... can anyone test it? hfc2X 07:57, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

It just goes to sleep as normal. I was thinking the same thing, and tried it out earlier today. This was in generation II however, I haven't tested it in more recent games. - unsigned comment from RCF0900 (talkcontribs)

Early Bird

Is Rest affected by the Early Bird ability? --RiverAura 20:36, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it is. That's why it's a good idea to have a Pokémon have both. (at least I think I've heard people say that.) Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 20:38, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes, should the Pokemon use rest or be hit with a move that induces sleep then they will wake up when it's their turn to attack. Frozen Fennec 20:45, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Frozen

Can Rest be used while frozen? ^_^ Delspencerdeltorro 18:45, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

No...--Den Zen 18:48, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Sleep talk

What happens if Rest is called by Sleep Talk? Tk3141 21:08, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Edit: I see that in generation III and beyond it will fail. How about generation II? Tk3141 21:14, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
