The Team Rocket motto
I'm wondering, should one of the Team Rocket articles provide info about the mottos? Goldchaos 21:44, 21 November 2005 (CST)
Hmm. Perhaps under the anime section (or create a separate article for the JJM motto [which has varied a few times, perhaps worthy of its own article] and link to that from the articles for those three). - 振霖T 04:09, 22 November 2005 (CST)
There's also the motto in the bookcases in the Mahogany Town Base in GSC. Something along the lines of: "Steal Pokemon for Profit! Exploit Pokemon for Profit! Pokemon exist for the glory of Team Rocket!" - PikamasterADV
Its been used by the main character(s) in 2 episodes: rescuing chicorita and one in the diamond and pearl series --Pocketmonster 03:47, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Never seen the rescuing Chikorita episode, but I have seen the one in Ditto's Mysterious Mansion and the other in The Keystone Pops! (Too lazy to find episode numbers and link to the episode) - spontaneousCombusken 03:49, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Personally, I think that Jessie and James are main characters..... But not TR as a whole. I can't really word this correctly... --Catu42 22:59, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Comic
I found this and it reminded me of the team rocket motto

And how does this have anything to do with Team Rocket?~Pokemaniac102 03:51, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Of course, it's entirely possible the comic was based off of Team Rocket's motto. But it doesn't matter at all. Would've been better if you posted this in the forums, though, since it doesn't have anything to do with the article at all, or any of the other articles. - spontaneousCombusken 03:57, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, main sentence, it doesn't matter at all, which is why I suggest this section be removed.~Pokemaniac102 04:02, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
*sigh*
How about this, we stop with all the supposed Nazi stuff (Which if you ask me is original research and subject to one's view, as I don't see it) until we discuss it here. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 17:58, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Stock art
Ok, so for the stock art and the Nazi thing, they are NOT doing the Hitler salute, they are in one of their poses. It would be like people doing ballet who have poses at the end of their dances. Deal with it. They aren't like the Nazis. R.A. Hunter B. 18:00, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- In All things Bright and Beautifly, they made an edit in the Rocket Fantasy because the grunts and the trio were doing a similar pose to the "Heil Hitler" pose. it was definitely a Nazi salute, especially considering their affiliation with Team Rocket, a paramilitary organization. Weedle Mchairybug 18:04, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- That was in ONE episode, not all of them. They realized it looked too much like the Heil Hitler, so they changed it. They'll do things like that, such as the Registeel pose in D/P. They had to change that for the European version because of the similarity. None of it is intentional. R.A. Hunter B. 18:07, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Registeel may have been unintentional, but I doubt it was a coincidence that it even resembled one of the most evil paramilitary totalitarian organizations of history. I mean, Team Rocket in the Anime has control of at least four areas (As the Sevii Islands appeared in the anime as well, I'd say they have a base located in Sevii Islands as well, as it did have one in the games.), and was implied to have taken over Hoenn at the end of the Hoenn arc, making five thus far, the fact that, out of all the criminal organizations that have debuted as of yet, they are currently the only ones who have had access to military grade vehicles (It's Mr. Mime Time had JJM using a Tank, as well as a Submarine capable of firing weapons that could destroy a city in some episodes, as well as the fact that they owned Jeeps [a standard Military transport vehicle] in the Red Gyarados Arc are all testaments to this. Heck, just like the Nazis and Hitler, Giovanni was considered to be a respected high official in there, being quite unaware that he is actually a dictator.). I mean, it's not the first time the Japanese referenced the Nazis when making their shows. I mean, the Red Ribbon army in Dragon Ball was deliberately based off of the Nazi party (even going as far as to include a Germanic, Gay, Superstrong psychic using high general by the name of General Blue into the mix.). Believe me, it was deliberately based off of the Nazi salute. there's been too much evidence for it to be that for it to not be a nazi reference. I am removing it because you said it shouldn't be mentioned as it would cause too much controversy, so the image would have to go as well. Weedle Mchairybug 18:24, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- By that logic, all articles pertaining to Team Rocket should be deleted as well.--RexRacer -talk 18:27, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- If it needs be in order to prevent controversies appearing, so be it. Weedle Mchairybug 18:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

- Ok, but apparantly, Rocket Admin Hunter Blade thought it needed to be politically correct when he said "That should NOT be mentioned, as it would create controversy." when he reverted my first edit to the article stating that the anime version resembled the nazis. Fine, have it your way. I'm kinda wishing I hadn't started this subject, because I'm tired of getting e-mails talking about something somebody edited to reference the Nazis and Hitler. From now on, unless somebody else says something, drop it. R.A. Hunter B. 00:12, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Pokemon poacher
Wouldn't Team Rocket also come under this category? They do steal them for profit. J-J-M 23:04, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok, for the HeartGold and SoulSilver appearances.
We should remove them from the article. HOWEVER, we must also realize that we don't know if they will be appearing or not (in other words, don't state that Team Rocket isn't appearing in HG/SS when removing the remakes link as if you know that they won't until we have more info.). Weedle Mchairybug 13:15, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure TR will be in HG/SS. Wouldn't be much of a remake if they weren't in it. DarkGiratina 21:04 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Spoilers
Should I put a spoiler warning before the bit that reveals who the Viridian City Gym Leader is? Taromon777 09:45, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's not really needed. We don't have spoilers on Giovanni's page, Viridian City's page, or the Viridian Gym page. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:45, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
TR Name in Japanese
団 (dan) means "Group, Team, Club, Gang..." basically any grouping. It's used in school clubs, sports teams, etc. So putting it up as "Rocket Gang" is sort of misleading. It DOES mean that... but it also means "Rocket Team" or "Rocket Club" or any sort of "Rocket Group". I think we should mark it as "Rocket Team" because it is closest to the English name, even if TR is actually a gang. CherryParanoia 00:59, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Team Rocket Base in the Anime?
In the first Paragraph it states "An underground school for aspiring Team Rocket operatives is present somewhere in the region, while the organization's headquarters were formerly near Pallet Town." What Episode confirms that the HQ base was anywhere near Pallet? --Lordrogersmith6485 00:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- EP065. Team Rocket go to meet Giovanni at the head quarters before it is destroyed by Mewtwo. They then head to Oak's Lab in Pallet town planning to steal Pokémon. So presumably the HQ was close to Pallet. Then again in one episode they managed to get from Saffron City to Goldenrod in one night (EP159) so they can travel fast if need be.--Beligaronia (talk) 00:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- So is that more of an assumption rather than the consideration that the Team Rocket Trio are somehow capable of quick transporation? Well, we can leave that be I suppose. But what of the Underground School? When was this shown? --Lordrogersmith6485 02:24, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Beligaronia, couldn't they have used the Magnet Train? CuboneKing 02:26, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- @CuboneKing Nope, it wasn't built yet and wouldn't be for a year, according to EP158.
- @Lordrogersmith6485 Possibly in Training Daze, I haven't seen the episode but it's the only training centre reference I can think of off the top of my head. Nowhere in the episode article is it mentioned to be underground so I could still be wrong.--Beligaronia (talk) 02:36, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- So if this is considered speculation rather than truth, is it worth correcting for the main article?--Lordrogersmith6485 03:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Kuyck Kuyck Kuyck
Maybe noone else has noticed this guy, but there is a Rocket who laughs like like Curly in Gen 2 and the remakes, and is the only known guy you fight twice aside from the bosses. Seeing as the Rocket Bros. have their own page, how about this guy? I like him and would do it, but thought I should get the go ahead first. Nevar00 13:52, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- That sounds more like somthing that should be in the trivia section of this page. EpicShadow 9:17, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Consistency in other articles
I've seen "Team Rocket" used as both a singular (as in "Team Rocket steals a Pokémon") and plural noun (as in "Team Rocket steal a Pokémon") around the site in various articles. Which one of these is considered to be correct? Technically, the word "team" is singular, even though a team is by definition made up of more than one person.--Phantomjunkie 06:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- The main problem is that there are two different (sort of) things called Team Rocket. When it is singular it should normally be referring to the villainous team in Kanto and Johto. When it is plural it will normally be referring to Jessie, James and Meowth in the anime, where it is often used to refer to the three as a group, as opposed to the team as a whole. If that makes sense. So Team Rcoket steals Pokémon in the games, while in the anime Team Rocket steal Ash's Pikachu. Werdnae (talk) 06:48, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Slight bias
While I am new to editing this wiki, I'm assuming it is supposed to be neutral, so should the references to Team Rocket being "Evil" be removed? I'm not claiming that I disagree that they are, though. Absolution 19:34, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, since this is fiction and the writers obviously intended for them to be the bad guys. Idya Ran 19:10, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Useless Minions
This is just something that I noticed and I am not sure if it is worth noteing. Team Rocket is suppoosed to be a highly sucssesful group of poachers who cappture rare and valuble pokémon, yet most of the members(This is excluding Geovanni, The Iron Masked Marauder and previus members like Bruno and Lt. Surge) only train pokémon from the Rattata, Zubat, Ekans, Koffing, and Sandshrew families. Leaving one to wounder why they dont use the more powerful pokémon that they no doubt capture on thier Pokémon raids. EpisShadow 10:11, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Trio In Poverty
I think part of the Trio's section should include facts about there poverty situation and the fact that despite this, they can aford lots of realy expensive and heavy machinery that no normal person could afford. Other things that would go into this area of information would be the kinds of sidejobs they do like selling food at the indigo leuge championships. EpicShadow 10:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's pretty much accepted that any machinery or transportation they use is provided by Giovanni and the rest of Team Rocket. --PhantomJunkie 04:10, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I thought about that, but it makes no economical sens to spend so mutch money on a group with such a high rate of failure. There must be another way they get it. For simplicity's sake it should just say "the method by wich they retrieve the money is unkown". If it pleases I can write a paragraph about this when I have the time. EpicShadow 11:19, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall them mentioning occasionally that they are so poor because they spend all their salaries on their mechas. Werdnae (talk) 04:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Would this be okay "The trio has often been shown as poor or having little money. This may be due to the unusual amount of machinery and costumes they use in their attempts to capture Ash’s Pikachu. Because of this, one would wonder why Giovanni continues to fund their projects. They often take on side-jobs like selling food at stadiums or creating fake items to sell to the public." EpicShadow 9:05, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I went ahead and put it in there if ther is a problem feel free to change it. EpicShadow 1:14 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Split?
Can we split this article into two parts: "Team Rocket (game)" and Team Rocket (anime)". I'm surprised this hasn't already been done. The Jessie, James and Meowth trio really deserve their own article. たかはりい 01:56, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Why should the trio get a whole page when each individual member has their own page? The Trio page would just repeat information. Blake Talk·Edits 14:33, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think there is enough data to make a decent split, for example the origins are different in both Special and anime: In the anime Team Rocket has been running for decades under the command of Giovanni's mother. Also, during Best Wishes Team Rocket seem to be getting a relevant role and it's confirmed that they will clash with Team Plasma, I smell a lot of edit wars coming as soon as the special airs.LurKasumi 18:08, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
