Metapod (Japanese: トランセル Trancell) is a non-player character in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.
Caterpie asks the player and partner to go to Sinister Woods to rescue Metapod, who had gotten lost there. Team Meanies overhears and also goes to rescue him, but only if Caterpie joins the team after. The player's team eventually beats Team Meanies and rescues Metapod first, bringing him back safe.
Metapod later helps to build the player's new Team Base, using his silk to stick parts together. He then later appears on Hill of the Ancients to celebrate the victory of the falling star being destroyed.
