She first appeared when she went up to Ash and his friends, and gave them an amulet after Alexa read the group a story about a hero and a comet which took place on the island they were on. After giving the group the amulet, she walked away. The amulet turned out to be the key that got the Ghost-type Pokémon together years ago. Anima appeared again when the group and the Ghost-types were watching the comet that came down. She gave them more information about what happened years ago.
