No, because she was obviously describing Drowzee, the concept of which was based on the same myth Munna's concept is partially based on. [[User:juarmo]] | |||

References and Similarities
It seems that there are quite a few things in this article that aren't really references, but rather simple similarities. For example:
- Much like the Viridian Gym, the Hearthome Gym isn't accessible when the player first arrives in its home city.
- Veilstone City is many ways like Celadon City of Kanto, both of which are the largest city in their region. Both have a Game Corner (Rocket Game Corner in Celadon and Veilstone Game Corner in Veilstone), a prize exchange shop to accompany the Game Corner, and a Department Store (Celadon Dept. in Celadon and Veilstone Dept. in Veilstone). The villainous team of the region has two headquarters in the city: Team Rocket has Rocket Game Corner and Rocket Hideout and Team Galactic has Galactic Veilstone Building and Galactic Warehouse.
Those really don't seem like references to me. Should they really be included in the article?--Dual 17:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Why? Those are clear references/similaritites to different generations. --Theryguy512 18:16, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Those aren't references, they're just similarities. There's a very distinct difference between the two, and seeing as how this article is about cross-generational references, pointless similarities should be left out. --Dual 22:15, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Cleaned up the article a bit to get rid of some more similarities that wormed their way into the article. Also, remakes can't really be considered a reference to the games that they're based on, since they're pretty much replacing those games in the canon. --Dual 18:33, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Shorts?
Does anyone think the whole "shorts" thing with Youngsters counts as a reference? - unsigned comment from MyGolden (talk • contribs)
Silver's Relationship to Giovanni
From the section about GenII references in GenIII: The branch of Team Rocket in the Sevii Islands seems to be the same branch which attempted to revive Team Rocket during Generation II, with plans to use magnetic waves to evolve Pokémon. Their lead scientist also tells that Giovanni's child has red hair, a reference to Silver.
During GenIII and GenII, it was still unconfirmed that Silver was Giovanni's son. Obviously we all assumed that he was due to their relationship in the Special manga, but it wasn't until the GenIV remakes that it was confirmed as part of the game's canon. Should this really be listed as a reference to a past Generation, even though it wasn't confirmed until a remake two Generations later? --Dual 18:15, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Oak in GenIV
From the GenI References in GenIV: Professor Oak himself comes to Sinnoh to give the player the National Pokédex, and can always be found in a house in Eterna City thereafter. He gives the player an Up-Grade, which was sent to Oak by his acquaintance from Kanto. Does this really count as a reference to GenI? I mean, c'mon, Oak manages to show up in all of the games at one point or another. Do all of those count as GenI references? --Dual 18:20, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, it kinda does. —darklordtrom 21:20, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Munna
I know its very likely not, but should the fact of the Lass in Generation 1 describing a Pokémon with similarities to Munna?? --samm -- 17:43, 27 August 2010 (UTC) No, because she was obviously describing Drowzee, the concept of which was based on the same myth Munna's concept is partially based on. Black/White Gym Leader "Last Pokémon" Theme
Would this theme be a cross-generational reference as well? Xxcom9a 21:19, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Isn't it just remix of the main theme?----無限の知性 ◎ DENNOU◆ZENSHI 21:21, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Well we have "To Generation I: * The Pokémon Center's theme is a direct remix from the original theme from Pokémon Red and Blue. " so I'm not sure. Xxcom9a 02:04, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Tao Trio
Should Tao Trio be added as a reference to Generation I? Their typing is the same as Legendary Birds (except for they're Dragon-type instead of Flying-type). Also, their battle music sounds like Route 11 (Divdax 16:58, 2 June 2011 (UTC))
