Daz

(Japanese: ダズ Daz) is a character of the day and a Pokémon buyer who appeared in To Catch a Pokémon Monster!. He served as the main antagonist of the episode.

Daz drove by with his Diggersby, on the run from Officer Jenny and her Manectric, with a stolen Scatterbug that he was planning to sell. However, while swerving, the cage accidentally fell down and Daz drove off since he was still being chased. Later, Ash and his friends searched for Daz with the help of Officer Jenny. Daz returned to where the cage fell and found out that Scatterbug had evolved into Spewpa. The group found Daz in an abandoned laboratory and everyone except for Ash got trapped in a net that was set. Daz confronted Ash and they had a battle. After Froakie became weakened by Diggersby, Spewpa took over and was able to defeat Diggersby while evolving into Vivillon, as well as helping Officer Jenny arresting Daz.

Diggersby is Daz's main Pokémon. It was often used to assist Daz in his poaching activities. When Ash battled Daz to rescue Chespin and the Spewpa, it overpowered Froakie despite having a type disadvantage, but it was defeated after the Spewpa that had escaped evolved into Vivillon and paralyzed it with Stun Spore.

Diggersby's known moves are Mud Shot, Dig, Double Slap and Hammer Arm.

Debut	To Catch a Pokémon Monster!

Several Scatterbug and Spewpa were kidnapped by Daz. Daz would capture and held them captive until they evolved into Vivillon, which he could sell because of its patterns. They were eventually freed when Ash, his friends, Officer Jenny teamed up with a wild Vivillon to arrest Daz. Several Spewpa evolved into Vivillon afterwards.

None of Scatterbug or Spewpa moves are known.

A Scatterbug was stolen by Daz and locked in a cage, who fell from the truck during a pursuit. It teamed up with Ash to defeat Daz after evolving twice.

• Daz bears a resemblance to Wario from the Mario series: his clothing is similar to Wario's clothing from the WarioWare series and his nose is discolored in a similar way that Wario's nose is discolored.
• The credits incorrectly lists Daz's name as "Ges" (Japanese: ゲス).
