Monopoly: Pokémon Kanto Edition is a special edition of the classic Monopoly game adapted towards Pokémon, focused on the Kanto region. It is a remake of the 1999 edition, but based on Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Origins, rather than the 1999 edition, which is based on Pokémon Yellow and the main anime. It was released on September 15, 2014. It has the SKU USOMN101000.
Changes from the original Monopoly
- The currency is the Pokémon Dollar ($).
- Professor Oak and Trainer Battle spaces and cards replace chance and Community Chest spaces and cards, respectively
- The four original types of Poké Balls, in ascending order of power, replace the railroads.
- Blue Attacks and Team Rocket Attacks spaces replace the Income Tax and Luxury Tax spaces, respectively.
- Zapdos and Articuno replace the Electric Company and Water Works spaces respectively.
