HAL Laboratory, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社ハル研究所) is a video game developer that was founded on February 21, 1980. Satoru Iwata, the current CEO and President of Nintendo, was one of its former presidents. The company has been involved in large projects such as the Kirby and the Super Smash Bros. series. It employs around 106 employees and has made games for the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube and more recently for the DS and Wii.
