Release information
This card was released in the English Jungle expansion , originating from the Japanese Pokémon Jungle expansion. It was later reprinted in the English Base Set 2 expansion, and the English Legendary Collection expansion.
Early prints of the 1st Edition version of this card were printed with a symbol that appeared to look like "Edition d" instead of "Edition 1" due to the presence of an ink bubble during printing.
Trivia
Origin
Whirlwind and Mega Drain are both moves in the Pokémon games that Butterfree can learn. Both moves' effects are similar to those of their corresponding card attacks, as Mega Drain deals damage then restores the user's health by an amount equal to half the damage done to the opponent while Whirlwind causes the opponent's Pokémon to switch out for another one. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
