Knight
Am I the only one who sees Beedrill as being based off of Knights? It just seems fairly obvious, yet there's nothing on this page listed.
- Examples: its stance/how it is portrayed, its lance-like stingers, the many Pokedex descriptions that not only apply to bees and hornets but fairly accurately describe jousting (see: Crystal, R/S/E, D/P/Pt), the fact that its Japanese name is Spear (a weapon used by Jousting Knights in lieu of lances), the fact that many Knights served as protectors of their lord and/or lady's lands (the nest) and attacked either solo or in groups (like the Pokedex descriptions), the fact that many European castles were built near forests or coasts (both of which are prone to fog), and the style of attacks it learns (rage, fury attack, focus energy, pursuit, etc.).
- Yes, it is quite obviously based off of bees and wasps, but I find it hard to believe that I'm the absolute only person out there that has even considered that Knights played any sort of factor in its creation. Can anyone else see where I'm coming from with this, and is there any way we can officially confirm if it is or is not partially based off of Knights? Crenel 07:23, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Phantom's Beedrill?
I thought it was his first mate that used them? Missingno. Master says: The Celebi Glitch is real!(talk page) 17:16, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Valid enough to be added?
It is valid enough to be added that despite being Bug and Poison type, Beedrill only learns two Big and Poison type moves via level up?--Miles Castea 04:36, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- It's valid (as in, true), but not notable. There are quite a few Pokémon in the same or similar situations. Bulbapedia typically only mentions those who either learn no moves of their type or those who learn one move and a bunch of other moves of one specific non-STAB type. —darklordtrom 05:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Trivia
wouldn't it be usefull to state in the trivia that, in generation I, Beedrill is the only pokémon that can learn bug-type moves. Hence, Beedrill is the only Pokémon that can be supereffective against psychic pokémon.
- Nope, Jolteon could also learn Pin Missile then. Sneaking from page to page... It's the page-editing purple ghost... Gengarzilla! 15:48, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Current Image has RGB discolorations
The current official art being used for Beedrill is incorrectly colored, and is most likely pulled from pidgi.net/wiki, which also labels their own picture as incorrectly colored. Normally, I would just revert this if I saw it, and it has been done before with discolored images, but this image has been on here for a year, and the previous images are terrible in quality, which leaves me hesitant. Should the current picture be reverted? ArtistKyurem (talk) 14:24, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
- You may aswell just wait, seeming press sites will most likely release it's artwork again (and the right colouring) in the next few days in high quality, so it'll be updated anyway. ----samm :D 14:54, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Just Asking
I transferred my Beedrill from Blue to Sun. Then I tried to find good strategies on how to use MEGA Beedrill (without Drill Run or Knock Off), but the results included BOTH moves. It would help me a lot if someone has a strategy like that (Natures don't matter to me).--Hamfart 17:24, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
