He is a mentor only of professor Sycamore? What media is this? I thought he mentors the other "Japan" professors at least.--Robin Maximo (talk) 08:35, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, but I didn't write it down at the time, but if you evolve your Pokémon before going to Sandgem Town, Prof. Rowan comments on this. I fingered it was a neat touch and should be included in the "quotes" section. If anyone owns the game and wants to grind for 2 hours, go ahead.--Grass4Lyfe (talk) 02:09, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Why is it mentioned in the article that Paul got Turtwig from Rowan? If I remember correctly, Paul introduced himself to Rowan in DP003. So that means this was the first time they were meeting each other. JmathTalk 18:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

You do have a point there. Either it was a mistake or Paul recieved his starter Pokémon from Nurse Joy. In an episode in the Advanced Generation, it is mentioned that starters can be given by Nurse Joy when the trainers home town isn't near the Pokémon Lab. Or he could of gotten it from his brother. I think it should be changed to "Unknown" since there are too many variables involved. --ケンジ ガール 12:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
It can also be that Paul got his pokemon from Rowan's assistants, while Rowan was on a trip somewhere, like when Dawn was going to get her pokemon, though he returned before she got it. And also, Rowan only asked who Paul was in the dub. In the original version he said "You are...", maybe because he recognized him. But that's just a theory. Madch94 18:23, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
I believe Paul did receive turtwig from sandgem town ...although since its not confirmed there should be an "unknown" section. RovingTrainer 13:01, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Age?

Where/when was that mentioned?--Outrage DD 02:23, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Implied and said directly in DP. --PsychicRider 02:29, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Kenny's Piplup

Is it safe to assume that Kenny got his Piplup from Professor Rowan? I mean he, like Dawn, comes from Twinleaf Town and he can't have started his journey long before her and it has been confirmed he started with Piplup. Watchermark 14:42, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

I think so too. Also, don't forget about Tyler, the kid who started with a Piplup in that episode "The Thief That Keeps on Thieving", and Paul also started with a Turtwig. So we know that Dawn, Kenny & Tyler all started with Piplup and Paul started with Turtwig, so why does it only say that Dawn got Piplup under the "Known Trainers with his starter Pokémon"? Dialogue Error or Oversight?

This has been bothering me.

When the player meets up with Rowan in the Canalave Library, the player is told to investigate Lake Valor before the explosion. However, Rowan only speaks to the player after the player encounters Mesprit at Lake Verity. He says "you collected the data like I asked", implying that Lake Verity was your initial destination.

So, what's going on? MagicBarrier 19:28, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Starly/Staraptor Repeated?

Under Professor Rowan's Pokémon, it shows a Starly and Staraptor with similar descriptions which indicate that they seem to be one and the same. Should the two be merged into one? - unsigned comment from Zywxn (talkcontribs)

They aren't though. They're different Pokémon used as part of an evolution study. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 14:40, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Starter Pokemon

Was it confirmed that Tyler and Paul got there starter's from him? I see it unlikely because they live so far away from Sandgem town and we know some pokemon center's give out starters so I think it should be changed because it is not confirmed Lanturn....05308 13:46, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Whaaaaat?

'Some of Chimchar's only known move is Ember'? Typo? - unsigned comment from ShinyMew9001 (talkcontribs)

Missing line

I was watching a randomizer LP of Platinum, and Rowan said "You've made your Pokémon evolve already?" or something along those lines. I couldn't find it anywhere in his quotes section. SuperLuigi9624 (talk) 23:58, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Hometown

Professor Rowan is the only professor aside from professor Sycamore not to have a lab in the player´s hometown.Robin Maximo (talk) 10:27, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

If he isn't the only one, this isn't notable enough to add to the article. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 14:43, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

Hometown Again

He is not the only one, should we add that he is the first to not have a lab in the hometown of the player character then?--Robin Maximo (talk) 08:32, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
