The idea of this page seems flawed atm. I'd impose a stricter restriction on the Abilities that show up on this page by removing most of the links from their original pages. Abilities like normalize, corrosion, unaware, emergency exit, contrary, light metal, etc. don't have an inherent negative effect: they cause an effect which can be seen as positive or negative. If the above abilities are included, so should the following list: | |||

More Abilities
The idea of this page seems flawed atm. I'd impose a stricter restriction on the Abilities that show up on this page by removing most of the links from their original pages. Abilities like normalize, corrosion, unaware, emergency exit, contrary, light metal, etc. don't have an inherent negative effect: they cause an effect which can be seen as positive or negative. If the above abilities are included, so should the following list:
Aerilate (similar to normalize) Aura Break (crunch zygarde) Color change (similar to normalize) Delta Stream (cloud nine) Drought (Thunder Groudon) Electric Surge (Grass knot Koko) Galvanize (normalize) Grassy Surge (zen headbutt bulu) Imposter (if your opponent is worse) Liquid Voice (normalize) Magician (sticky barb) Multitype (normalize) Pickpocket (sticky barb) Pixilate (normalize) Power of alchemy (negative ability) Protean (normalize) Psychic Surge (thunderbolt lele) Receiver (negative ability) Refrigerate (normalize) RKS System (normalize) Sand Stream (flamethrower/solarbeam Tyranitar) Shields down (def/atk) Snow warning (water pulse abomasnow) Soundproof (heal bell) Trace (negative ability) Triage (similar to prankster) Zen Mode (other darmanitan is worse)
etc.
I suggest making the list smaller, including only abilities such as Truant, Defeatist, Klutz, Stall, etc. which are distinctly negative.

Run Away
How is Run Away a hindering ability? I'd delete it from the list, but I can't figure out how; it's not in the editing text. Unowninator (talk) 05:07, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- Run Away has a negative effect in the Mystery Dungeon series. And for future reference, pages are automatically placed into categories when
[[Category:<categoryname>]]
is inserted into the code of the page itself. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 13:17, 4 May 2016 (UTC)- Right. Is there a way to do a tt thingto show that it only affects that Spinoff? Unowninator (talk) 18:08, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
Weather
Why are Air Lock and Cloud Nine in this category? Weather is not inherently a good or bad thing (it depends on what Pokemon and moves you and your opponent have), so surely the absence of weather would also be neither good nor bad, no? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:07, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Look at the attacks Rayquaza can use: Surf, Flamethrower, Thunder, Solarbeam. If it weren't for that ability, Rayquaza would've been a great ally for Groudon & Kyogre pre-ORAS. Unowninator (talk) 18:54, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Apart from being good or bad in some situations, they can also prevent some moves from being used, which I guess is strictly negative. Nescientist (talk) 19:30, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- These negative effects should probably be a direct effect of the Ability. You could just as well call every one of the weather Abilities negative. In rain, you can't use Fire attacks or Solar Beam as well; in sunlight, you can't use Water attacks or Thunder as well; in Hail and Sandstorms, you get hurt. If you have to take a step beyond what the Ability directly does, then that's probably not really a "negative" effect. Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:45, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, you could make a case for most Abilities, I guess. There's much room there, so (assuming you considered and dismissed the prevents-moves-from-being-used argument) I for one am ok with the current state. Nescientist (talk) 21:01, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
