They generally use strong and evolved Pokémon, and their Ai is generally very good compared to other trainer types in their games.

A pair of Cooltrainers paired together for a Double Battle is a Cool Couple, although in Emerald, notably in Victory Road, you can face two Cooltrainers at the same time and not have them known as such.
