::Hi, newbie here but I wanted to put in my two cents. I thought that Wooloo might be based on a Valais Blacknose sheep[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c2/13/78/c2137815b374cc2a530d5b005b06afd4.jpg]. Like Wooloo, they have black faces, black legs, short horns (at least on the ewes) and when their coats are fully grown, have a very round appearance. ::True, could be any number of sheep breeds, I'm probably biased because i love scottish blackies so much. Valais didn't come to mind for me because they weren't very a very well known breed until recently, but then again, we've seen Pyukumuku based on a sea slug that was unseen until it became popular in Japan. I suppose we won't know for certain 'till any evolution(s) come out. (C'mon curly horns!)--[[User:Goldhusky|Goldhusky]] ([[User talk:Goldhusky|talk]]) 18:34, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Chinese Name Origin

毛辮羊 -> 毛 "hair" 辮 "braid" 羊 "sheep" (simplified Chinese)--Buddy002 (talk) 21:10, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Name origin

Wool + moo? ReignBough (talk) 03:19, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

No, more like the Japanese romanization of wool, but stylized. (Wulu (wool in romaji) -> Wooloo (to include wool)) It is basically when you translate something into another language on Google Translate and then translate the output into the original language again, but cuter.--Buddy002 (talk) 04:00, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Actually, Wooloo's name might be wool + loom! Based on its name in different language, it would make sense. This could also be the case for the Japanese name as well.--Buddy002 (talk) 02:56, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Wooloo is based on a Scottish Blackface Sheep

The Scottish Blackface is a breed of sheep that is very common on uk farms, with thick white wool and sometimes solid black face. They are also notable for having long, curled horns. Given that Galar is based in the uk, and wooloo has what looks like horns coming in, I'm confident that this specific breed was the inspiration. --Goldhusky (talk) 15:02, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

That specific breed is not the only breed to have a black face. There are a lot of sheep with black faces. Wooloo has stubby horns, which could be any shape when grown in and we certainly shouldn't make assumptions. Finally, we shouldn't necessarily base our guesses on the region's origin; there are koalas in Alola, for example. While the region's origin is sometimes helpful, it should not be a large factor. Hi, newbie here but I wanted to put in my two cents. I thought that Wooloo might be based on a Valais Blacknose sheep[1]. Like Wooloo, they have black faces, black legs, short horns (at least on the ewes) and when their coats are fully grown, have a very round appearance. LadyBrightcynder (talk) 17:33, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
True, could be any number of sheep breeds, I'm probably biased because i love scottish blackies so much. Valais didn't come to mind for me because they weren't very a very well known breed until recently, but then again, we've seen Pyukumuku based on a sea slug that was unseen until it became popular in Japan. I suppose we won't know for certain 'till any evolution(s) come out. (C'mon curly horns!)--Goldhusky (talk) 18:34, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
