While in a training session with the group, Zoey notices that Aipom is more interested in Dawn's battle style while Buizel is more interested in Ash's battle style. Meanwhile, James is depressed about leaving Cacnea.

• This is the second time Ash has traded one of his Pokémon. The first time happened when he traded his Butterfree for Raticate, though he soon after traded back.
