(Japanese: マサエ Masae) is a character of the day who appeared in Journey to the Starting Line!. She is an elderly woman who owns a store and is also a DJ of Pallet Town's radio station, WPOK. She is a gossiping lady that once angered the mayor of Pallet Town over the radio.
She told Professor Oak that the Pokémon Monthly magazine was out, but he was preoccupied because a Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle escaped from his laboratory. He asked her not to tell anyone, but after cackling maniacally, she announced over the radio that they were missing and that there was a reward offered for their return.
Later, after Charmander and Squirtle had been recovered, she redeemed herself by aiding Professor Oak and co. by giving them the information that was passed onto her by listeners calling in to report Bulbasaur sightings, which directly led to Bulbasaur's escape from the wrath of a group of Primeape.
