This card was released in the Secret Wonders expansion, originating first from the Japanese Shining Darkness expansion. In September 2010, an exclusive Cracked Ice Holofoil print of this card was released in the Fall 2010 Collector's Tins in order to showcase the difference between normal and Shiny Pokémon.
