Melee was released in December [[wp: 2001 in video gaming|2001]] The last Pokémon game that was released on the Gamecube was [[Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness]]. XD was released in October [[wp: 2005 in video gaming|2005]]. The Gamecube was successor to the [[Nintendo 64]], and the predeccessor of the [[Wii]].
