Howling Forest (Japanese: 遠吠えの森 Howling Forest) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. It consists of 15 floors.
After receiving access to the Friend Area Sky-Blue Plains from an optional mission and renovating the Team Base, the notice board may include a mission to rescue Smeargle. Accepting this mission will unlock Howling Forest. After completing the dungeon for the first time, Smeargle will join the Rescue Team.
In Red and Blue Rescue Team, it is also the only extra dungeon available before the credits roll; in Rescue Team DX, it has been moved to postgame.
Gameplay
Generation III
There is a random weather effect on floors 3, 6, 9 and 13. Additionally, darkness shrouds all floors, limiting field of vision to 2 tiles outside of rooms.
