Many fans have suggested that Eagun is actually supposed to be an aged version of [[Ash]] and that Pokémon Colosseum takes place in the far-flung future.  However, there doesn't seem to be much proof to back this up.  There are some similarities, it's easy to picture an elderly Ash having the same personality as Eagun.  In addition, Ash did start with Pikachu and has seen Ho-oh more than once.  However, it's more likely that Eagun is loosely based on Ash in the same way that Rui is presumably loosely based on [[Misty]].

Eagun (Japanese: ローガン Rōgan) is the grandfather of Rui and wife of Beluh. Eagun is a very old man with lots of white hair, a long white beard, and flowing purple robes.

The elder of Agate Village, he considers it his personal duty to protect all of the other senior citizens in Agate, as well as their Pokémon.

In his youth, Eagun was one of the greatest Pokémon Trainers in Orre, if not the world. However, once he started to age, he retired and now lives in the base of a large living tree in Agate Village.

Despite his age, Eagun is still in excellent shape, being able to easily outrun two healthy people a fraction of his age.

Eagun still keeps the first Pokémon he ever recieved with him, a Level 40 Pikachu.

The old trainer is highly enthusiastic about Pokémon legends and myths, two of his favorites being Ho-oh and Celebi. He's seen a Ho-oh at least once before the end of Pokémon Colosseum.

Despite his experience and power, Eagun was too old to prevent members of Cipher from invading the Relic Cave in an attempt to destroy Celebi's Relic Stone. A Cipher grunt was able to knock out Eagun's Pikachu using the power of a Shadow Pokémon, Hitmontop. Luckily, Wes and Rui stepped in to save the day.

Eagun has trouble with gadgets, especially new technology. He's only just learned to type in his old age.

Throughout Pokémon Colosseum, Eagun takes on the role of mentor to Wes, imparting words of wisdom and supplying advice.

Many fans have suggested that Eagun is actually supposed to be an aged version of Ash and that Pokémon Colosseum takes place in the far-flung future. However, there doesn't seem to be much proof to back this up. There are some similarities, it's easy to picture an elderly Ash having the same personality as Eagun. In addition, Ash did start with Pikachu and has seen Ho-oh more than once. However, considering that Eagun is solely a game character and that the above applies to an anime character, it's more likely that Eagun is loosely based on Ash in the same way that Rui is presumably loosely based on Misty.
