It says "Ignore Hidden Abilities". Fair enough, but it should also ignore abilities from Gen V and later. One totally valid criticism with this is that Gen V didn't add any new abilities to old Pokémon, besides Hidden Abilities. I imagine this is why it hasn't been done yet. And that would be a totally valid point... except for one issue. We're not looking at Gen V. We're looking at Gen V ''and later''. This means that Gen VI and onwards would result in problems. For example, Jigglypuff. According to the chart, Jigglypuff in Gen IV can have either Cute Charm or Competitive. But it can't have Competitive, because that's an ability that doesn't exist until Gen VI! This is rather strange to allow the charts to keep operating in this manner, so I think it's time that this be changed. --[[User:GoldenSandslash15|GoldenSandslash15]] ([[User talk:GoldenSandslash15|talk]]) 03:53, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

New look?

I think this template looks better so.

Please note that this is only 100% accurate to Generation V games.
  • For Generation III games, ignore abilities introduced in Generation IV, Generation V, and abilities only available in the Dream World.
  • For Generation IV games, ignore abilities only available in the Dream World.

Too much complex. How about this one now?
Please note that this is only 100% accurate to Generation V games.
  • For both Generation III and IV games, ignore Hidden Abilities.
  • For Generation III games, ignore Abilities introduced in Generation IV too.

Something should be added on the Gen III/IV lines about ignoring Gen VI abilities too. --Flicky1991 23:13, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Generation IV

Why doesn't the Gen IV line make mention of later generations? III and V do, so I see no reason not to be consistent and clarify. It almost had me thinking Gen V didn't introduce new abilities. Draceon (talk) 07:28, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Time to update?

It's been a few months since SwSh was released, and most ability pages have already been updated to include new Pokemon. Shouldn't the footer be updated for Gen 8 now? TechSkylander1518 (talk) 07:46, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Also, it doesn't say to ignore Hidden Abilities in generation III.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 15:22, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
