Counterparts are pairs of Pokémon from different evolutionary trees that have several similarities that imply a biological or thematic connection, or otherwise were designed with several similarities.

Evolutionary Counterparts are much the same as normal counterparts, except are from a split evolution from a single evolutionary tree.

Criteria

  • Gender Ratios.
  • EV Yields.
  • Designs or design origins.
  • Type combinations.
  • Stat distribution.
  • Abilities.
  • Alternate forms like Mega Evolution or Gigantamax forms.

Other factors include;

  • Legendary groupings.
  • Close placements in the Pokédex.
