An Area Leader (Japanese: エリアリーダー Area Leader) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in the Generation III games, appearing in Colosseum and . Each Area Leader rules over 10 sections of Mt. Battle and many specialize in a single Pokémon type. In this way, they are much like the closest thing Orre has to Gym Leaders. After defeating an Area Leader, the player receives Poké Coupons as a reward instead of a Badge. There are 10 Area Leaders in all. The tenth one faced is known as a Mt BtlMaster, the Area Leader of all of Mt. Battle.

Trivia
*In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, the Area Leaders for Areas 7 through 9 all use Pokémon that distribute one EV stat only.
**Nocom, the Area Leader for Area 7, has Pokémon that give out only Special Attack EVs. Furthermore, all of his Pokémon have their Special Attack as their highest stat.
**Naday, the Area Leader for Area 8, has Pokémon that give out only Attack EVs. Furthermore, all of her Pokémon have their Attack as their highest stat.
**Ragen, the Area Leader for Area 9, has Pokémon that give out only Defense EVs.

An Area Leader (Japanese: エリアリーダー Area Leader) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in the Generation III games, appearing in Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD. Each Area Leader rules over 10 sections of Mt. Battle and many specialize in a single Pokémon type. In this way, they are much like the closest thing Orre has to Gym Leaders. After defeating an Area Leader, the player receives Poké Coupons as a reward instead of a Badge. The tenth one faced is known as a Mt BtlMaster, the Area Leader of all of Mt. Battle.

Each Area (with the exception of the first and last) has four leaders in total. Three in Colosseum, depending on if Battle Mode or Story Mode is selected, and one in XD. The listing is as follows:
Area 1: Vander, Vannos, Elion
Area 2: Arth, Erben, Altor, Eldof
Area 3: Renson, Leven, Kucher, Taria
Area 4: Trinch, Slewis, Vernice, Boyden
Area 5: Zentin, Cryal, Konaik, Calus
