Ponigiri (Japanese: ぽにぎり ponigiri) is a food featured in Pokémon Conquest that increases the Energy of Pokémon. A regular Ponigiri increases the Energy by 1 level, a Red Ponigiri by 2 levels, a Blue Ponigiri by 3 levels, and a Purple Ponigiri by 4 levels (guaranteed maximum).
Ponigiri Shop services
Ponigiri can be purchased for instant consumption at a Ponigiri Shop, which is a type of kingdom location found in 10 of Ransei's 17 kingdoms. By investing in a kingdom's Bank, which is another type of kingdom location, the level of a Ponigiri Shop can be increased. This level determines the selection of Ponigiri services as follows:
- A level 1 Ponigiri Shop sells Ponigiri.
- A level 2 Ponigiri Shop sells Ponigiri and Red Ponigiri.
- A level 3 Ponigiri Shop sells Ponigiri, Red Ponigiri, and Blue Ponigiri.
Second helpings
Consuming one Ponigiri Shop service uses up the turn of a Warrior, but the Shopkeeper will occasionally offer a second helping. If the Pokémon doesn't eat too much, the Energy will increase to its maximum level. If the Pokémon eats too much, its Energy will decrease. Occasionally, the second helping of Ponigiri is missing an ingredient and will do nothing to the Pokémon's Energy level.
Ponigiri items
Ponigiri are also available as single-use held items, consumable in battle. They can be purchased at Shops, a type of kingdom location, but only those in the Ransei kingdoms Pugilis, Chrysalia, Cragspur, Viperia, Nixtorm, and Dragnor. By investing in a kingdom's Bank, which is another type of kingdom location, the level of a Shop can be increased. This level determines the selection of Ponigiri items as follows:
- A level 1 Shop sells Ponigiri.
- A level 2 Shop sells Ponigiri and Red Ponigiri.
- A level 3 Shop sells Ponigiri, Red Ponigiri, and Blue Ponigiri.
The Purple Ponigiri, a fourth type of Ponigiri item which does not have a corresponding Ponigiri Shop service, can only be bought from a traveling merchant.

Trivia
- Ponigiri is based on rice balls, called onigiri in Japanese. As such, the name is a portmanteau of the word Pokémon and Onigiri.
