Seed Sower (Japanese: こぼれダネ Self-Sowing Seeds) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Arboliva.

Effect

In battle

Seed Sower summons Grassy Terrain in battle for five turns when a Pokémon with Seed Sower is hit by a damaging move, unless Grassy Terrain is already present. This can be extended to eight turns if the Pokémon is holding a Terrain Extender. If hit by a multi-strike move, the first strike will activate it.

Seed Sower activates before the effects of the moves Steel Roller and Ice Spinner are triggered, thus removing the terrain.

Outside of battle

Seed Sower has no effect outside of battle.
