:Thanks for the heads up. Even if the common English usage frequency rate of "steal" is lower than "take" in this phrase, "steal a life" is still grammatically and meaning-wise perfectly spot-on and exact to translate it with so in this case where it's actually the officially provided translation that one will obviously take precedence. Quick note about edit summaries
Hey there! It's awesome to see more more people who have a deep understanding of Japanese here. There are many things that require translation, so it's always a good thing for more people to be able to handle the workload.
That being said, I wanted to send you a quick note about a recent edit summary that I saw. This edit summary was a bit over the top. I know if wasn't directed towards anyone in particular, but we want everyone here to assume good-faith when editing. Mistakes and misunderstandings can and will happen, but we are all on the same team trying to document this entire complex history of the franchise we love. I enjoy the enthusiasm and precision you are bringing to the table! And the notes about Japanese grammar are great for people learning and trying their best to help out! As long as you can keep your messaging positive and helpful, I think you'll have a much better time editing here. Let me know if you have any questions! You can reach out to me any time. Thanks! - I know that the initial assumption that the "十月と十日" was referring to the amount of time Ash was alive wasn't added in bad faith or anything, but I'll make sure my future edit summaries don't contain any negative tones when editing to comply with the code of conduct. Gengar (Raging Surf 35)
Hey there! Quick note about your contribution to Gengar (Raging Surf 35). That specific page has its Pokédex entry quoted from Pokémon Scarlet. I'll have to undo your edit since we are bound by the translations offered by the games themselves. I hope you understand. Thanks! MaverickNate 12:57, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
