Pokémon that become available after first watching the [[game credits|credits]] roll are not listed, as they serve no purpose to the challenge. The sole exception to this is {{2v2|HeartGold|SoulSilver}}, which has the {{pkmn|battle}} with {{ga|Red}} atop [[Mt. Silver]].


Non-fully evolved Pokémon are not listed (partly due to [[Eviolite]] and {{p|Kadabra}}), nor are {{p|Shedinja}} or {{p|Smeargle}} due to them being overpowered in their ability to abuse various exploits.
