You blocked the wrong guy there--I blocked the spammer, you blocked the guy he was impersonating. evkl 19:03, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Yea! You blocked me! But I'm the good guy! --File:Spr 3e 115.gifTheryguy512File:Spr 3e 202.gifFile:Spr 3e 327.gif 20:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm thinking the vandal's current MO is to use Russian characters that look the same as English ones in order to make the sockpuppet username look the same as that of a good faith user. Five such names have been logged under the JohnnyRebel heading of Bulbapedia talk:Troublesome users. --Shiningpikablu252 20:20, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Please Help
I just picked an administrator at random, but i need some help. Every time I try to edit my userpage, i get an error message that reads: "You do not have permission to do that, for the following reason:
You do not have permission to edit pages in the User namespace." I want to know why i get this and how to fix it T_T Retasulettuce 02:43, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's because the User namespace is locked down to all except sysops. This is due to some users abusing the namespace by making constant consecutive edits, even going as far as some users registering for the sole purpose of the User namespace. The lockdown fell over three months ago in an effort to try to encourage contributing to encyclopedic articles which had been drowned out by the userspace edits.
- The only solution is to wait it out. Solutions are being shopped around for as we speak. --Shiningpikablu252 02:49, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
