Zapmolcuno (サ・ファイ・ザー Thu Fi Zer) was the result of a Team Rocket experiment created by fusing the three Legendary Birds in the Pokémon Special manga. Red's Gym Badges triggered a fusion machine and created this Pokémon. Team Rocket stole Red's Eevee in order to research the Eeveelutions Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon, which was a mere beta-test for this creature. It nearly destroyed Saffron City.

In Pokémon Special canon, it never had a proper name. However, Coronis from Serebii.net coined the term Zapmolcuno, a portmanteau of the legendary birds' names. Japanese fans also coined the term サ・ファイ・ザー Thu Fi Zer, a combination of the legendary birds' Japanese names Thunder, Fire, and Freezer.
