Steelix (Japanese: ハガネール Haganeil; German: Stahlos; French: Steelix) is a Steel/Ground-type Pokémon. It evolves from Onix.

Name origin
Steelix's name is likely a combination of steel and onyx or Onix. Its Japanese name is based on 鋼 hagane, steel.
Steelix, like Onix, may be based on a mythical wyrm.
