Smeargle (Japanese: ドーブル Doble; German: Farbeagle; French: Queulorior; Korean: 루브도 Lubeuto) is a Normal-type Pokémon first seen in the Generation II games. Its single move, Sketch, allows it to learn almost any move in existence.

Smeargle has the Ability Own Tempo, which prevents confusion.

Smeargle does not evolve to or from any other Pokémon.

Pokédex entries

Pokémon Emerald
A Smeargle marks its territory using a fluid that leaks out from the tip of its tail. About 5,000 different marks left by this Pokémon have been found.

Name origin

Smeargle's name may be a combination of smear and beagle. Its Japanese name may be a combination of "dog" and "dabble" - to splatter liquid, which could be a reference to paint being splattered.

Smeargle appears to be based on a beagle and an artist.
