Fantina's Drifblim (Japanese: メリッサフワライド Melissa's Fuwaride) is Fantina's main Pokémon in the anime. She had hatched it from its egg.

Drifblim first appeared as a Drifloon in DP093. Fantina used it in a informal battle against Ash. Drifloon was easily able to defeat Ash's Buizel and put his Chimchar to sleep. During Drifloon's battle against Pikachu, it evolves into Drifblim and puts Pikachu to sleep, forcing Ash to forfeit.

As a Drifloon

Ash had his rematch with Fantina in DP102. She called Drifblim out as her final Pokémon. A common strategy that Drifblim used was to come in close and grab the opponent and then execute Hypnosis at point-blank range. This proved to be very effective as it was quickly able to defeat both Pikachu and Buizel.

In the final match Drifblim battled Chimchar. Despite proving to be a tough opponent, it ultimately was defeated earning Ash the Relic Badge.

Trivia

• As a Drifloon, it was able to lift Ash's Buizel even though Buizel weighes 65 pounds compared to Drifloon, who weighs only 2.6 pounds.
• Furthermore, Drifblim is the first known Pokémon used by a Gym Leader other than Brock and Misty that was hatched from an Egg.
