Trivia

  • The English title, Revelation, is one of two Biblical references in the TCG; the other one is Neo Genesis. Genesis and Revelation are the first and last books of the Bible, respectively. The name Revelation may also refer to this being the set that included the last of the Generation II Pokémon which had not yet become cards.
  • As with Neo 1 and Neo 2 in Japan, Neo 3 had a 9 card promotional set—Wizards added these cards to the English set.
  • Neo Revelation was the first set to introduce Shining Pokémon to the TCG: Shining Magikarp and Shining Gyarados. These quickly became very sought-after cards, and some American collectors paid over $250 for the Japanese versions before their English release. In Japan, the odds of finding one of these elusive cards in a Booster Pack were stated to be 300:1.
  • Neo Revelation was also the first (and so far the only) set to not have Preconstructed Theme Decks associated with the expansion.
  • The inclusion of Rocket's Hideout in this expansion initially would appear to be a strange move—the last time Dark Pokémon were seen in the TCG before this set was the Team Rocket expansion (though Dark Raichu enjoyed its Japanese release in Neo 2). Rocket's Hideout would prove useful, however, as Dark Pokémon returned in the following set.
  • The set symbol for Neo Revelation is an abstract representation of the legendary beasts departing from the Burned Tower.
