Effect Spore (Japanese: ほうし Spore) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Four Pokémon have this ability, all of them Template:Type2. Interestingly, all the Pokémon who can learn Spore can have this ability, as well as being based around mushrooms, with exception of Smeargle.

Effect

In battle

Effect Spore may inflict the foe with a status problem if they make contact. It has a 10% chance of inducing either Paralysis, Sleep or Poison on the opponent when hit with a move that makes contact.

Outside of battle

Effect Spore has no effect outside of battle.
