Sheimi is the first pure Grass-type legendary Pokémon. This is the second event legendary Pokémon, which was thought can only be received during a Pokémon event or a Nintendo event. However in the Japanese version of D/P version, It can be caught through the "surf" glitch of the first room of Elite 4.

Sheimi is based on either a hedgehog or porcupine.

Name origin

Its name may come from the word shy.
