Swarm (Japanese: むしのしらせ Bug's Foreboding) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Twelve Pokémon have this ability, all of which are Template:Type2.
Effect
In battle
Swarm strengthens Template:Type2 moves in a pinch. When a Template:Type2 move is used, it will do 1.5× its usual damage if the user has less than one third of its HP remaining. It can be considered the Bug-type variation of Blaze, Overgrow, and Torrent.
Outside of battle
If the Pokémon leading the party has Swarm, the chance of encountering wild Pokémon increases. In Pokémon Emerald, this ability also increases the rate in which the cries of wild Pokémon could be heard on the field.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
Swarm will do double the damage if the Pokémon using it is below 25% of its HP.
