Ash's Gible (Japanese: サトシのフカマル Satoshi's Fukamaru) is the fifth Pokémon caught by Ash in the Sinnoh region.
History
Ash first met Gible in DP156. Wilma explained that Gible was trying his best to learn the move Draco Meteor. But for some reason, the move always failed; instead of exploding in the sky, it always fell to the ground. Most of the time, it fell on Piplup. Ash wanted to help the wild Gible learn Draco Meteor and achieve his dreams. It successfully used the move against Team Rocket, but failed again in it's next attempt. By the end of the episode, Gible decided to start following Ash.
In DP157, Ash met with Gible again. Barry also was interested in catching him. However, Gible decided to let Ash capture him after he saw what Ash would do to protect him. After that, Barry demanded a battle with Ash and his new Gible and was able to defeat it with Empoleon.
Like Grotle when it was a Turtwig, Gible seems to enjoy chomping on Ash's head as well as other peoples' heads. Gible also has the ability to devour almost any kind of metals, seen when Gible devoured two of Team Rocket's giant robots, and half of a city park. Despite appearing to be quite gutsy, it is slow to understand simple requests or orders.

Trivia
- Gible is the very first Template:Type2 Pokémon that Ash (or any main character) has owned. It is also Ash's first Pokémon that can evolve into a pseudo-legendary Pokémon (if his unofficial Larvitar isn't counted).
- Gible is the third Pokémon to eat a Poké Ball. The first two were Nero and May's Munchlax.
- Gible is the second Pokémon of Ash's to destroy a friend's bike. The first was his Pikachu, which destroyed Misty's, May's, and Dawn's bikes, but unlike Pikachu, who fried the bikes by accident, Gible ate Barry's bike on purpose.
- Gible is the third of Ash's Pokémon to have its gender confirmed before being obtained by Ash, due to the notch on its fin. The first two were Tauros (due to male being the only possible gender for Tauros) and Buizel.
