Talk:Electabuzz (Pokémon)
Origin
Okay, well since for some reason Pokemon specie pages no longer have the edit function, I'd like to bring this to someone's/everyone's attention. First off, how does the "pattern of its fur" have anything to do with being a so-called caveman? I don't see any relation to it. Just because it has a diagonal stripe on its back makes it look like a loincloth? The strips look like lightning bolt/tiger stripes to me. Secondly, appearence is spelt wrong. (this is all in the origin section). Also, can someone tell me why we can no longer edit specie pages? I haven't been on here in a few month so I missed the announcement about it if there ever was one. --いぬみみ 04:49, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Pages are locked because of a copyrights issue, but I agree that that is too much of a stretch and opinionated. Removed. —darklordtrom 04:56, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Character limit
I've noticed that the pages for Victreebel_(Pokémon) and Feraligatr_(Pokémon) say that their spelling was altered because of the character limit, but this article doesn't. Why isn't that in this one? Ampere 09:41, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- You mean Electrabuzz, right? It is just an opinion that there should be R.----無限の知性 ◎ DENNOU◆ZENSHI 09:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- Regardless of any opinions, the full prefix for anything related to electricity is electr- or electro-. It's just as conceivable that they left it out because of the limit as it is that they left it out for Victreebell. Ampere 13:59, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- So why doesn't Elekid use it? Let's face it, Game Freak doesn't limit themselves to full prefixes. Electabuzz isn't a prefix-suffix type name, it's a portmanteau, and the rules for those are far less stringent. And as I brought up on Victreebel's talk page, there's no evidence that had anything to do with the character limit either. What's next, was Wigglytuff meant to be spelled "Wigglytough", but shortened due to the limit? Honestly, saying it about any Pokémon besides Feraligatr is speculation. --AndyPKMN 21:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
