Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the third installment of the Super Smash Brothers series, set to be released on the Wii in 2007. As with previous installments, characters from various Nintendo video games will do battle with each other. The game will allow the use of the Nintendo GameCube controller, the Wii Remote alone, the Nunchuck + Remote control scheme, and the Wii Classic Controller. Several characters from outside of Nintendo's realm of control (the only confirmed one of which is Solid Snake) have also been slated to appear in the game. One of the most popular characters to be requested is Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog.

Several game mechanics are being introduced in this sequel, like the ability to crawl, the existence of containers with wheels, and the ability of each character to perform an unusually powerful signature move called Final Smash.

Pikachu is the only playable Pokémon confirmed to appear in the game thus far, though more are expected to be revealed nearer the release. In addition to returning moves seen in screenshots, Volt Tackle has been confirmed as its Final Smash move.

The Poké Ball has been confirmed as an item, which is likely to result in the debut of many Generation III and Generation IV Pokémon to the series.

A Stadium stage has also been shown in the second of two trailers published by Nintendo as of May, 2007.

Poké Ball Pokémon

The following Pokémon have been confirmed to appear from Poké Balls:

Goldeen No effect, just Splashes around.
Chikorita When released, unleashes a fury of Razor Leaf attacks hitting anyone in its path.
Groudon Any person that comes into contact with it is knocked around, and usually sent flying since it is very strong.
