Does anyone know where I can find the character concept art of his for movies 1-3? I have from 4 on, but...--BJG
TCG illustrations
The article mentions that Ken Sugimori has illustrated for the TCG, and while this is partially true, it's been worded in a way that sounds like he draws new art for the TCG, and that really isn't the case at all. In nearly every card I've seen where he was credited, the artwork merely reuses stock artwork that he had drawn for the games. There is almost never any new artwork that he had drawn solely for the TCG. The only one that I can think of is "Professor Elm's Training Method", but for all we know, maybe that could have also originally been game artwork.
If he did drew artwork solely for the TCG, then okay, but the majority of the cards he's credited in merely reuses his artwork as stock. They should be mentioned somewhere. Rai Marshall 00:29, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Official Artwork
Whilst not strictly about Ken Sugimori, or his art, may I query as to why, on the pages of each Pokémon, where it used to say something along the lines of "Official artwork from FireRed and LeafGreen by Ken Sugimori" for example, it now says "Images on the Bulbagarden Archives"? Surely it was more explanatory beforehand. Isn't this technically just removing information from a website intended to include as much necessary information as possible? Does this mean it was unnecessary, because, although it was pretty obvious to me which game/games the artwork was from, it wouldn't be to people first seeing the artwork. I know this is kind of nitpicking, but it just bugs me. Couldn't both the "Images on...", and "Artwork from..." links be used on each page simultaneously? I tried looking for a source by using Google translate. All the Japanese pages referenced the X/Y Strategy Book but I couldn't find a scan for conversation.
Even the Japanese Ken's Wikipedia page referenced the book.

No citation from the book can be obtained at the moment except citing the name of the book.
