Talk:Poison Sting (move)
If someone could kindly do so...
Could you remove the Denchura from the anime section? I don't think Denchura was using Poison Sting after all. The Pokédex mentioned that Denchura can fire stingy hairs that cause paralysis. That's what I believe it did to Zuruggu.
I would remove it myself, but the template is just so confusing to me. Thank you in advance. --ケンジのガール 05:28, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Description of Poison Sting
Just wondering, but did the chance of poison by Poison Sting change between Generation I and II? The article does not mention any changes for Poison Sting in any generation, nor is there a description from RBG that could clear up the difference. "Stad: A Poison-type attack. Has a one-in-five chance of leaving the target with the lingering effects of poison." "Stad2: A Poison-type attack. Has a one-in-three chance of leaving the target poisoned." Aya's Venonat
Aya's Venonat used Poison Sting in Ariados, Amigos, a Johto episode, when it clearly cannot learn Poison Sting in Generation II (according to Venonat's Generation II moveset page). So shouldn't this be regarded as an anime move error? Harryghost (talk) 22:57, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
Gen 1 Poison chance
Well, just like in my comment about Sludge, I've been working with pokered, the disassembly of Pokemon Red, and have found that Poison Sting has approximately a 20% poison chance in Gen 1 as opposed to a 30% chance. This would corroborate with what Super Goku said about Pokemon Stadium's description of the move. The ROM of Red/Blue compares the hex value 0x34 against a random hex value between 0x00 and 0xFF, which leads to an effective poison chance of 20%. CunningClaymore (talk) 06:46, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yep, that checks out. I've updated the page accordingly. --SnorlaxMonster 09:08, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Poison Sting as an oxymoron
Injecting toxins technically makes it venomous, not poisonous. I think we should add that to the trivia section. As well as the trivia section of Poison Fang for that matter. Pescavelho (talk) 22:03, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
