Talk:Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis
Please remove the ", do którego należy." from the Polish description on http://www.encyclopaediae-pokemonis.org/ site. The three words make the whole sentence nonsense. - Jerzy232 07:59, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
If you can, please update this site to point to http://wiki.pokemonpl.net/ instead of old http://wikinezka.pl/. Thank you. --Czaks 22:52, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Spanish
Should a Spanish Poke wiki be considered?--CoolPikachu! 00:19, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- If a good Spanish-language wiki with a license compatible with Encyclopaediae Pokémonis springs up, only then should this question be considered. Of course, if you can find one already in operation...
- (Remember, it has to be a Creative Commons license. GNU won't work.) --Shiningpikablu252 00:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok I understood everything except the part in parenthesis.--CoolPikachu! 00:24, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- In fact, there is a good Spanish Poke Wiki with a Creative Commons License: Raltspedia =). --Anthony 08:44, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Dates
Do any of the stalwarts around here remember when everything happened (EP created, BP joined, etc.)? At the moment, all we have is "soon" and suchlike descriptive time indications with no substance. — THE TROM — 20:39, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- EP was created with BP and PW. TTEchidna 23:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Pokéteca
I checked the Raltspedia site and...nothing was there! There's a new wiki called Pokéteca (which means Pokémon Library) which is operated by PkStation. No, it doesn't have all the Pokémon articles. According to a sysop, they do have a Creative Commons License, but it doesn't really say on the site itself. They have about half of the articles created, but that doesn't mean they're all complete. There are also forums, etc.

Yes, there are people who speak English. This concludes Dr. Dialga's homecoming to Bulbapedia! YAY! --DialgaRULES 21:50, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

- Actually, I think there is something about it on either the main page talk or TTEchidna's talk. I knew about it before we started having the obscure conversations, so it must be here somewhere.--RexRacer -talk 22:11, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm...well I was just thinking from a n00b's perspective...that I would probably look here first instead of going to TTE's sprawl of pages termed User talk:TTEchidna. --DialgaRULES 22:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

- At this stage, there are several Spanish wiki's angling for consideration by Bulbapedia. At this stage, none are yet of sufficient size to really be considered for entry. Given what happened with Raltspedia (whom we gave assistance to get up to size with a bot to insert base values, IIRC), we're holding off judgment at this point in time. There is a possibility that Bulbapedia itself will launch a Spanish language edition, rather than entrusting it to another site. And no, it's not just because my wonderful fiancee Kasumi is a native speaker of Spanish. ^^;; --Archaic 03:18, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Catalan
Do you think that a Catalan Pokémon Wiki could enter the Encyclopaediae Pokémonis? Zafiro 08:53, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Is if it has at least over 1000 "good" articles and has all 493 Pokémon listed. Then it might join depending on what the current critera is. --☆Coolピカチュウ! 08:56, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, maybe we ought to know the wiki's identity and its license before doing any once-overs. For example, the chances of a GNU-license wiki making it is a snowball's chance in hell (the chances are far better for, say, Heatran making the new Johto Pokédex in HeartGold and SoulSilver), and a wiki over on Wikia has a snowball's chance in hell compared to the previous example's odds. And if one knows its identity, then we can spread the word and get people over there to help, provided that wiki's servers don't buckle under the pressure (like the first aspiring Spanish wiki brought to our attention; Pokéteca was actually the second such wiki). --Shiningpikablu252 14:44, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Italian wiki
Hello, can someone change the italian interwiki links from http://www.pokemoncentral.it/wiki/ to http://wiki.pokemoncentral.it/? We've moved to a subdomain so we can have different servers for the forum and the wiki. Right now there's a redirect from the old URI to the new one, but of course it would be better to be taken straight to the new location. Thanks in advance. --g. (talk) 23:25, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yep, sure thing. —darklordtrom 10:08, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
A question..
Hey, I was wondering, why is the Encyclopædiæ spelled in that font and not Encyclopaediae? Just wondering ----Desukaan563, with a Pokedex of +400 (talk) 10:06, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- It's not a font; putting A and E together was a fairly common spelling practice in older days and so they figured they'd put them together. It can be called either a ligature, a grapheme, or a digraph, depending on how they are joined. «hexagonTHEORY» 10:16, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Russia
- Sorry, can't here ... How to connect to this site? There is a Russian wiki Pokemon. Only here there is not all articles about pokemon, but there are many complete. Once again, sorry ^_^ Psyduck123 09:00, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
EP home
I don't know where to put this or who to ask... I've noticed that EP's home is missing the Italian description, which would be: "Encyclopaediae Pokémonis (Enciclopedie di Pokémon in latino) è un progetto aperto e multilingue di enciclopedie a tema Pokémon." if someone could add it. Also, wouldn't it be better to list the descriptions in alphabetical order, like interwiki links? (i.e. de/en/es/fr/it/jp/pl/pt). It looks a bit untidy right now. --g. (talk) 20:22, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I believe they are listed in the order which they joined. --ZestyCactus 20:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
LANDpedia
I think LANDpedia should be deleted from this page, since on Encyclopaediae Pokémonis main page it has been removed--CiaobyDany (talk) 16:21, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
- As I am far from involved in the Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis side of Poképédia, I wonder what is happening about LANDpedia. As CiaobyDany said, LANDpedia is no more on the EP main page, and the website seems to be down for now quite some time. Does anyone have information? GreyDragon (talk) 14:55, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I'm one of the staffers of Pokéteca. The site has been unavailable for a good while -since at least July- ending now with the domain being dead as well. The creator and maintainer, Habieru, seems to be unreachable* as well, and has not even mentioned Pokéteca since at least March. To my knowledge, the site closed without notice.
What should be done in these cases? I've reflected some of the current situation in the Pokéteca page by marking it as unavailable. Solovino (talk) 03:50, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Latin of "Encyclopedias of Pokémon"
According to this quote:
- This translation takes the idea that "Pokémon" is both the singular and plural one step further, by using the singular "Pokémonis" rather than the plural "Pokémonum".
The Latin of Pokémon has been assumed to be in the third declension, so that its genitives are -nis and -um. But Pokémon is a shortened form of "Pocket Monster" (ポケットモンスター). The equivalent of "Monster" in Latin is "Monstrum", which is in the second declension. It seems a more logical way of naming it would be "Encyclopædiæ Monstri" or "Encyclopædiæ Monstrorum", which assumes both "Pocket Monster" and "Pocket Monsters" are shortened to "Pokémon". I understand that this choice was not made and it was done in the current way by assuming "Pokémon" to be in the third declension and taking the singular of it. But is there any explanation of why making this choice instead of the other? -Iosue (talk) 14:28, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
- Using Pokémon makes it clear what it's talking about. Most people wouldn't see Monstroum and think "Oh, that's about Pokémon". --It's Funktastic~!話してください 14:35, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
Which can be resolved by "Encyclopædiæ Pokémonstrorum". It was a typo that I missed out "Poké" in the front. -Iosue (talk) 06:28, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
No images on Japanese wiki specifically?
Anyone know why the specifically the Japanese wiki has zero images in their articles? Is it just a matter of server load, or is something else involved? All the other active language wikis have plenty of images. Blueapple128 (talk) 22:07, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
- I have thought of that myself too, but I have no idea. I guess you'll have to ask them yourself. --Raltseye prata med mej 11:12, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
