Possible origin: the Taowu
One of the Four Perils of Chinese myth, the Taowu appears to be the inspiration for Chien-Pao. It too is traditionally depicted as a feline creature (a tiger, in Taowu's case) with large fangs or tusks. Additionally, the fact that it's one of the Four Perils lines up with the fact that it's one of four Treasures of Ruin, especially given that all the other three also each correlate with one of the perils. - Four Perils have been removed from the articles due to the individual creatures don't actually correlate to the treasure of ruins, not to mention ancient text are not consistent with the depiction of the Fours Perils. In addition, none of Four Perils is based on a snail, while both Taowu and Qiongqi have been depicted with the features of tigers. --超龍「Chao」 03:41, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
