- Squirtle: Soon after birth Squirtle's back swells and hardens into a shell. In battle, Squirtle sprays a powerful foam from its mouth.
- Psyduck: Psyduck can hypnotize its enemies with its vacant stare. It relieves its terrible headaches by releasing huge bursts of mental energy.
- Poliwag: Poliwag has brand-new legs and no arms, so it has a hard time standing. It prefers to swim.
- Seel: The hard horn on Seel's head is used for bashing through thick ice, which comes in handy in its freezing Arctic home.
- Shellder: Shellder's hard shell repels any type of attack. This mischievous Pokémon likes to tease its enemies during battle by sticking out its tongue.

- Horsea: This fragile Pokémon can shoot down flying insects from the surface of the water using pinpoint blasts of ink.
- Seadra: Seadra's spiky fins are used for attack and for swimming backwards. The fins are so sharp that they can pierce the skin of almost any opponent.
- Goldeen: Goldeen's tail billows beautifully, like an elengant dress. Its nickname is the 'Water Queen'.
- Staryu: Staryu can easily grow back any starry points it loses in battle! It uses its psychic powers in order to move from place to place.
- Magikarp: In the past, Magikarp was extremely strong. Today, it's one of the weakest Pokémon. You can fish for it almost anywhere.
- Vaporeon: With its long, beautiful tail that ends in a fin, Vaporeon is often mistaken for a Mermaid!
