Release information

This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was awarded to those in the Pokémon Players Fan Club who collected 50 stamps in a special passport by battling other players over the course of the 1999-2000 season. Those that met the criteria at the end of the season were awarded this card by MediaFactory.

Trivia

  • This card is commonly known as Grand Party, in reference to the words displayed in the illustration.
  • At the height of the Pokémon phenomenon, this card was well publicized as being much rarer than it actually was (similar to the hype surrounding Birthday Pikachu), sending initial overseas prices soaring – it is estimated that collectors paid sums of up to $200 during the initial boom. It can still be relatively easily obtained today for between $20 and $30.
